Day 20, June 13 th: Hanoi

Wednesday morning was again sunny. Go figure! :D Enni wanted to watch one of her DVD's this morning and I had nothing against that as I had some things to arrange too. The day's agenda was to eat in a restaurant that Enni wanted and to have a cup of coffee in the downstairs cafe as Enni wanted. I added also something on the list.

Afer the DVD had been watched we packed our stuff and went to eat in our "home" restaurant Quan an Ngon. Once again a well served and cheap meal that also was delicious.

After the lunch

Ye, I was there too. Had to take one pic of myself too to prove I was on the trip as well. ;)

The delicious dumplings and srping rolls in Quan An Ngon... or what's left of them

The next item on our thigs to do today- list was the one I added: a swan boat cycling on West lake. We went to have a cup of iced espresso on the Potomac we visited earlier. On the next pier there was the place to rent the swan boats. 80 000 VND for one hour. I was a bit sceptic about that full hour as the weather was as it was, hot! Well, we still departed the harbour and went to see the temple close to the Sofitel plaza hotel. We (read I) cycled there for about 15 minutes and the guys on the shore of the temple island were waving us not to continue any closer to the shore but to turn away. Well bummer! So we went back to the other way. We made another 20 minutes or so ride and had to give in as Enni took a short nap on the swan and it started to be quite hot there AND our water supplies were running low.

Enni said that our swan had the wrong colors. She just proved to be a lady. :D

After the swan ride we took a taxi back to our apartment. The next thing to find was a cafe to which we would go to have a coffee in. Enni suddenly changed her mind (second time proving to be a lady) and we went to our close by store to pick up some ice cream. :) So we ate the ice creams outside on the stairs to our apartment. After having a half of ice cream (Enni ate the other 1 and a ½) we went to the local spirits store to find a wine bottle to take with us to the cruise tomorrow. I remembered there was one that we had passed the other night when we went to eat. Just didn't remember it was that far away! :) It felt to be even further as I was forced to carry Enni as she hurt her foot. Got even a bleeding would and you know how princesses take those bleeding woulds...

Electronic installation on the street. That's no 5S and not too safe either!

The wounded princess... Looking even worse than it actually was.

After arriving to the apartment again we read a book after which I started to make some food in order to be able to hit the gym as soon as Laura would arrive. Had my workout after which I visited our rooftop to take few pictures of the sleeping (NOT!) city. Here are the results:

Seems like I had some dirt on the lense, or then the Carl Scheise is a buu-haa! ;D

A panoramic view over the city

So, tomorrow is the day for the Halong bay cruise which we all been waiting for! We've been in Hanoi for 2 and a ½ weeks now and I feel like it would be time to see something else for a change. Lets hope that the weather stays as it is and our cruise will be a success. I will be updating the blog again on Sunday/Monday. Until then: thanks for the +1300 views! ;)
